Welcome to the Microbial Biogeochemistry Laboratory
at Oregon State University

Our lab attempts to better understand microbial contributions to ecosystem processes and responses to disturbance. We use both mathematical models and experimental approaches to describe dynamic interactions between physical and biological components of the ecosystem.
Our current research areas focus on plant-microbe coupling under disturbance (e.g., drought, wildfire), drought impacts on microbial ecophysiology, and developing a bedrock-to-canopy scale understanding of biogeochemical cycling in mountainous watersheds.
